The Lamination Process: From Reel to High-End Packaging
Industrial wet lamination is the preferred method for creating rigid, premium boxes that require the reflective properties of gold or silver metalized films.
1. Reel Feeding & Adhesive Application
The glue lamination paper film reel machine unwinds the top material from a roll. A precision metering roller applies a thin, uniform layer of water-based adhesive (wet glue) to the substrate.
2. Mounting & Registration
The glued material is then pressed onto pre-cut cardboard or corrugated sheets. Sensors ensure that the reel-fed film and the rigid sheets are perfectly aligned (registered) during the mounting process.
3. Sheet Separation & Pressing
An automated rotary knife cuts the continuous film at the edge of each cardboard sheet. The individual boards then pass through a heavy pressing unit to ensure the lamination is flat, bubble-free, and ready for die-cutting.
