Industrial Workflow for UV Spot Coating
Applying a spot UV finish is a critical print finishing step for luxury boxes and high-end commercial brochures. The process requires precise registration and rapid curing.
1. Coating Application
The sheet is fed into the flexo unit where a photopolymer plate applies the uv partial coating. Unlike full-surface varnishing, the spot process only places the liquid on specific registered areas of the printed cardboard.
2. Hybrid Curing (UV & IR)
After application, the sheet enters the drying tunnel. The Infrared (IR) lamps pre-heat the coating for better leveling, while the high-power UV lamps instantly cure the varnish into a hard, high-gloss plastic film.
3. Finishing & Stacking
The dried sheets are automatically stacked. Because the uv partial sport coating with dryer process is instantaneous, the sheets can be moved immediately to die-cutting or folding without the risk of set-off or sticking.
